By Your Spirit, God! - New Worship Song

My music playlist is a combination of sultry soul, trap, gospel and a bit of rock. I'd like to think I have a decently eclectic taste in music and EVERYTHING gets played when I'm cleaning my home. B&M and I were cleaning this past Sunday, scrubbing and dancing to Drake, Nickelback and The Roots while eating fruit snacks. In the midst of the sweeping and throwing away mail "Your Spirit" by Tasha Cobbs and Kierra Sheard came on.

"Not by might
Not by power
By your spirit God
Send your spirit God."

It was apparent that God was trying to get my attention, because I put down the mail and my broom and restarted the song. I could hear the babies calling my name to keep dancing, but I ignored them. In that moment, nothing and no one mattered. The words stopped me dead in my tracks like...

I turned the radio up, threw my hands up and began to worship. The tears fell from my face as my heart grew full of peace and gratefulness. The babies hugged me, thinking something wrong, but I continued crying out to God, thanking him for our lives and for the peace and healing I've been longing for. In that moment, I felt empowered and full.

"You called us out
Out of the darkness
Into your love
Into your light
Grace upon grace
Beauty for ashes
You come to us
We come alive
We stand in awe of you"

Dealing with depression makes you feel like you're left in the dark. A depressed mind is the perfect playground for Satan, and he plants seeds of doubt, loneliness and insecurity that only God's grace and love can remove. I'm 32, and I'm now understanding that there is beauty in my mess, in my past and in my pain. Through God, I'm alive, I'm worthy and I'm more than enough! When you decide to be intentional about a relationship with God, you'll find that thoughts of Him and the life he has planned for you begin to overpower the negative self-sabotaging thoughts of the enemy. Your mind will automatically focus on overwhelming joy. This song now stays on repeat when I'm worshipping, in the shower/bath, and cooking dinner.

Some of my fave Tasha Cobbs and Kierra Sheard Songs are:

Tasha - For Your Glory, Break Every Chain, Fill Me Up, Put a Praise on It, Love You Forever, Smile & Happy

Kierra - Flaws, Indescribable, Desire, No Graceland, Free, Kill the Dragon, Victory & Save Me
