My 28th Birthday Weekend

Friday 10/17

Friday was a great day! My boyfriend took me on a much needed mini shopping spree and then we celebrated my birthday and Sweetest Day at Cliff Bells in Detroit. There was a live band who was excellent. The atmosphere was really nice. We were probably a bit overdressed, but WHO CARES! I first ordered their trout pasta. It was terrible, so I switched and ordered the short rib and risotto which was pretty decent. I really enjoyed myself.

Saturday 10/18

He bought me tickets to Embrace The Natural You's natural hair brunch and women's panel. It was such a beautiful setup. There were so many beautiful spirits in the room. The food was pretty good. The panel discussions were informative, but I'd have to say that my favorite part was seeing Charity perform. Make sure you check out all of the lady's IG pages!

After the brunch I went out with a couple of friends I hadn't seen in a long time. It as such a pleasure to see their faces and catch up. We went to Bahama Breeze. I hadn't been before but always wanted to go. The food was amazing. I had the Adobo Chicken tacos and jerk chicken wings. I'll definitely be going back!

Sunday 10/19

I got to wake up to my little man this morning. I'm so grateful for days like this because they are rare. I work all of the time and he hates that I can't spend much time with him. He and Melanie crawled in bed with me early this morning and we slept until about 11:15. I made them pancakes and sausage and we watched our church Greater Emmanuel Institutional COGIC service on the computer. Travell came home from work and after his nap made me dinner...Pan fried salmon, herb roasted red skin potatoes, asparagus and cornbread muffins. It was good and yes, I licked the plate...just a little bit, lol. Overall, I had a great birthday. I thank God and I'm excited to see what this next year will bring!
